Helping You Float a Better Boat

Have you been looking for a reason to get a shiny new outboard for the back of your boat? Well, thanks to the Clean Wake Engine Take-Back program, now you have two.

Mark your calendars now… Clean Wake events will be taking place on Saturday, September 25 and Saturday, October 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sandy Cove Marine (Lake Simcoe), Paris Marine (the Kawarthas) and Gordon Bay Marine (Muskoka).

Bring in your old conventional two-stroke outboard motor to a participating marina and they’ll recycle it responsibly for you. And the first 50 people who bring in their engine will receive a $100 gift certificate towards purchases at the participating marina.

Still not convinced? Did you know that, when compared to four-stroke engines, an old two-stroke outboard produces and emits 50 per cent more CO, 15 times more gas and oil, and 12 times more carcinogenic or mutagenic toxins. By retiring 50 old two-stroke engines, Clean Wake will reduce harmful emissions by 15,835 kilograms. That’s the equivalent of about 25 round-trip flights from Toronto to New York.

Help your water, help your wallet, help your boat – it’s a win, win, win situation!
