May is Open House Season!

With the April showers passed and the May flowers set to bloom, boaters are busy readying their boats for another season. Whether it’s waxing that last section, shining that last piece of steel or tightening that last hose clamp, the boats will soon be splashed.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect either since May usually means open house season at marinas and dealers across Ontario! Whether you’re looking for a shiny new toy or a new bottle of wax, there are definitely deals to be had and a new season of boating to celebrate! So visit our SPECIAL OFFERS page to see what’s happening where and get in on the fun!

Trying for Another World Record

smart boaterOn May 21, SmartBoater.ca and the Canadian Safe Boating Council invite the entire boating community and the general public to gather to establish a World’s Record Lifejacket Inflation. Throughout North America and in other parts of the globe, participants will inflate their lifejackets to set a new world record.

To officially launch Safe Boating Awareness Week, which runs from May 21 to 27, SmartBoater.ca, the educational safe boating website of the Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC) in partnership with the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) in the United States will be working with their respective members and affiliated organizations to execute this world record life jacket inflation event.

This timing positions SmartBoater.ca Day at the beginning of the long weekend in May, the “unofficial start of summer,” when the water is dangerously cold and, historically, a large number of boating incidents occur.

A complete list of the venues and event coordinators will be posted on the Ready Set Inflate link at www.smartboater.ca. Please visit www.smartboater.ca for more information.

Bayliner 2352011 Bayliner 235 BR

Bowriders are the quintessential family boat; at home, at the cottage, or trailering to explore new lakes and rivers. Many boaters start out in a classic 16 or 17 footer and eventually want to move up for more space and comfort for additional guests. That?s where the Bayliner 235 BR comes in. You get a 22-foot, 6-inch boat that can handle 11 people, be decked out as a wakeboard boat, and still be trailered (with a beam of 8 feet, 6 inches).
